Top 9 Places To Visit In Cebu City Tour
January 29, 2017
I've been living in Cebu for almost 4 years now. Unfortunately, I haven't seen all the beautiful tourists spots in the city. I hope to see more of the city lights this year, though I didn't include it in my personal goals for this year, I still hope we can do it.
We've visited some of the tourist destinations in Cebu City. Here some of the most consistent places in our list, which you can visit in order:
Basilaca del Sto. Niño
It is one of the most famous churches in the Philippines and in Cebu City. It was built in 1965 and now locally known as Sto. Niño. The Sinulog Festival is one of the largest festivals in the Philippines and is done in honor of Sto. Niño. It's celebrated every third Sunday of January.
Cebu City Zoo
We have mixed emotions with animals in cages. Don't get us wrong, hubby and I love animals. However, we've avoided visiting zoos for personal reasons. (Un)fortunately, the Cebu City Zoo was closed earlier this year and we don't regret not visiting it. Nonetheless, there are still other mini zoos in the City that you can drop by. And the Cebu Safari is set to open later this year.
Cebu City Senior Citizens Park
It's a small park in from of the Cebu City Hall. It's hard to miss because it's in front of the Cebu City Hall and adjacent to the South Road Properties (SRP). Eat a balut or chicharon while basking under the sunset near SRP.
Fuente Osmeña Circle
This is another famous tourist destination located in the heart of Cebu City. It's a popular spot especially during Sinulog and during Christmas season because it's where the giant Christmas tree is erected. It's also a favorite jogging spot for health buffs.
Plaza Independencia
It's another popular destination in Cebu City for both tourists and locals. It is considered as one of the most important historical sites in Cebu City because of it's historical accounts since the 1600's.Cebu Sirao Flower Farm
The Sirao Flower Farm, also known as Cebu's little Amsterdam, is one of the most famous flower farms in the city, especially for those who want to have an outdoor photo shoot.
Taoist Temple
The temple was built in 1972 by the Chinese community in Cebu. The temple is made up of two temples which is the Phu Sian Temple and the main temple.Temple of Leah
This is one of the newest attraction in the city. It's at least 20 minutes to get there from J.Y. Square. According to Teodorico Adarna, “This Temple was constructed in the year 2012 A.D as a symbol of my undying love for her and my ceaseless devotion to Leah Villa Albino-Adarna."Tops in Busay
Considered as one of the most overrated spots in Cebu City, it's still one of the favorite spots of Cebuanos and tourists. It's best to visit here at night to see the beautiful dancing city lights.
