Toddler and Baby Diapers in the Philippines

    August 02, 2024

Choosing the right baby diapers for your kid can be overwhelming because of all the brands in the market. As a first-time mom, I was lucky enough to have mom friends who were very willing to share their experiences with different newborn diapers.

As a first-time mom, I really listened to the reviews of other moms and joined groups as part of my research. So, today, I'm sharing the diapers that were recommended to me, how I tried and tested diapers to find the best for my son, and what brands worked well with us.

    How to choose baby diapers?

    Research

I read a lot and asked my friends to find the best newborn diapers. If you don't know where to start, here are some steps:

    Join Mom Groups on Facebook

I joined many mom groups on Facebook and used the search bar to read the reviews, questions, and comments of other mothers about the diapers they were using or were using that didn't work for them.

    Read Reviews Online

It's not a secret that we tend to buy a lot online when we're pregnant, so I took this opportunity and time to read online reviews on Shopee and Lazada.

    Ask Your Mom Friends

I was lucky enough to have friends who were also first-time moms and who shared their experiences. It can be daunting to ask other moms about these types of questions because they can be very trivial, as others may answer, "You should try what works with you." However, trust me, their insights can really help you.

    Try It

We've been using diapers for my son for two years, and I kid you not, they can be expensive. However, we've found the best two brands after trying different brands when he was an infant.

What diapers have we tried, and what diapers worked?

When my son was born, we bought newborn diapers from Pampers, Rasca + Friends, and EQ.

However, I'd like to note that we used cloth diapers in the first two days, specifically, lampin.

Review on Pampers diapers for newborns:

When we got home, we used Pampers. However, after the third change, there was a strong smell. I wasn't sure if it was just the pee, but it was a pungent smell, which, as a first-time mom, made me panic, so we switched.

    Review on EQ:

I decided to use the EQ diapers we had, which I love because:

    • It has a convenient belly button gap. As a first-time mom, I really didn't want to touch or cause irritation to his navel, so this won me over.
    • The diaper didn't smell at all. There was no pungent smell after changing.
    • It was cheaper compared to Pampers.

We still use EQ as his toddler diaper until now. My son is 25 months old, and we haven't experienced any leaks. However, I really recommend that you use the correct size for your kid because I tried sizing up too early, and it didn't go well.

    Review on Rascal + Friends

I only use Rascal + Friends diapers at night time, even when he was still a newborn, because:

    • It doesn't lean and doesn't smell.
    • It can last up to 8 - 10 hours, depending if your baby is a heavy wetter.
    • Though it's expensive but convenient, especially when you use it for bedtime.

So, now we only use EQ Diaper Pants during the day and Rascal + Friends diaper pants at night.

How do you know when to move up a diaper size?

Here's what I learned in sizing up your diaper size:
    • If the diaper starts to leak at times of the day that it shouldn't, then it's best to size up.
    • If you can see physical signs that they're wearing a smaller diaper, like red marks on their legs or waist.
    • If your baby gains weight, you can try to size your kid's diaper.

Other newborn and toddler diaper brands in the Philippines:

    Drypers

Drypers diapers are known for their flexibility and comfort, ensuring a snug fit that moves with your baby. Their Drypantz line provides up to 10 hours of dryness with a soft, breathable material that reduces the risk of rashes.

Lampein Diapers offer superior comfort and protection, with ultra-absorbent layers to keep your baby dry and happy all day.
